Analog Devices Inc. HMC882A Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit

Analog Devices HMC882A Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit is a low-pass filter that features a user-selectable cutoff frequency (f3dB). The cutoff frequency varies from 3.95GHz to 6.9GHz by applying a single analog tuning voltage between 0V and 14V. This low-pass filter provides a low 3dB insertion loss, 13dB return loss, and >20dB stopband attenuation at 1.28GHz × f3dB.

Use this tunable filter as a smaller alternative to physically large switched filter banks and cavity-tuned filters. The HMC882A has excellent microphonics due to the monolithic design and low residual phase noise of -165dBc/Hz. The device provides a dynamically adjustable solution in advanced communications applications. The low-pass tunable filter is packaged in a RoHS-compliant, 5mm × 5mm LFCSP package.
