Analog Devices Inc. LT8584 Monolithic Flyback DC/DC Converters

Analog Devices Inc. LT8584 Monolithic Flyback DC/DC Converters actively balance high voltage stacks of batteries, and the high efficiency of a switching regulator significantly increases the achievable balancing current while reducing heat generation. Active balancing also enables capacity recovery in stacks of mismatched batteries, which is unattainable with passive balance systems. In a typical system, greater than 99% of the total battery capacity can be recovered. The LT8584 series features an integrated 6A, 50V power switch, reducing the design complexity of the application circuit. The part runs completely off of the cell that it is discharging, removing the need for complicated biasing schemes typically required for external power switches. Analog Devices Inc. LT8584 Monolithic Flyback DC/DC Converters are offered in a 16-lead TSSOP package.
