Mouser Electronics Sponsors iMake Event, Fostering Technical Innovation

March 31, 2016 - Mouser Electronics, Inc. announced that once again it will be a major sponsor and participant in the iMake: Maker Fest, a family-friendly festival this weekend April 2-3 at the Fort Worth (Texas) Museum of Science and History.

This is the fourth consecutive year that Mouser is sponsoring iMake: Maker Fest, an event for all ages to create, invent, learn, think and be inspired by the creative, engineering-related impulse to make and re-make the everyday objects that shape our future. Attendees can meet talented local makers and learn about the interesting technologies they use, and then join hands-on activities to make their own creations.

The iMake: Maker Fest, inspired by the growing Maker movement, will include interactive experiences and demonstrations. Mouser is sponsoring an exhibit that will allow makers of all ages to investigate interesting electronic circuitry, giving them an introduction into the workings of electronics and robotics.

"The iMake: Maker Fest is always an exciting event at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, and we are excited and proud to once again be a part of it," said Kevin Hess, Mouser's Senior Vice President of Marketing. "Mouser is a strong supporter of programs that support the growing Maker movement, and emphasize the importance of STEM education for today's students."

Mouser teamed up with the museum last month as a major sponsor of National Engineers Week 2016, a five-day event that celebrated the importance of engineering education.

Van A. Romans, President of the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, praised Mouser as a consistent and proven educational sponsor and partner: "Because of generous backing like Mouser's financial and volunteer support and professional insights, our museum can provide these memorable learning experiences to our guests, particularly our young guests, to inspire invention, creativity and innovation."

All of the iMake: Maker Fest activities are included with paid admission to the museum, located in Fort Worth's Cultural District.
